Актуальность. В музеях Иркутска находятся живописные собрания, которые подтверждают интерес художников к неосвоенным территориям, к изучению Байкальской Сибири и Крайнего Севера. Б.И. Лебединский и Н.А. Андреев активно сотрудничали с научными коллективами и участвовали в экспедициях, где передавали образы северных земель, традиции коренных народов и природные достопримечательности. Произведения служили основой для проведения тематических выставок, где демонстрировались результаты деятельности творческих и научных организаций.Цель – изучить работу Б.И. Лебединского и Н.А. Андреева о том, как происходил процесс изучения Байкальской Сибири и Крайнего Севера на рубеже XIX – XX веков.Задачи: определить материалы, которые подтверждают исследовательскую деятельность иркутских художников, их составление описаний сибирских земель; представить сюжеты, которые рассказывают о работе мастеров по созданию живописных полотен и составлению художественных альбомов; восстановить процесс проведения художественных событий, где можно было увидеть картины художников.Методология. В исследовании используется комплексный подход, который выстраивается на общенаучных принципах. Работа включает проблемно-хронологический и историко-генетический методы.Результаты. Работа продемонстрировала то, как иркутские художники Б.И. Лебединский и Н.А. Андреев вместе с учёными участвовали в научных экспедициях на Крайний Север и Байкальскую Сибирь. В результате были определены документы, которые подробно описывают отношение мастеров к природным объектам и местности, которые они посещали. Изобразительные материалы выделяют моменты, которые подтверждают интерес художников к изменениям в природе, жизни народов.Выводы. Б.И. Лебединский и Н.А. Андреев участвовали в научных экспедициях, которые выявили многие известные в настоящее время памятники природы. Они составляли живописные альбомы и вели записи о пребывании на крайнем Севере и на территории Байкальской Сибири, где сохраняли собственные впечатления о событиях в природе. 

Relevance. Irkutsk museums contain collections of paintings that confirm the artists' interest in undeveloped territories, in the study of Baikal Siberia and the Far North. B. I. Lebedinsky and N. A. Andreev actively collaborated with research teams and participated in expeditions, where they conveyed images of northern lands, traditions of indigenous peoples and natural attractions. Their works served as the basis for thematic exhibitions, where the results of the activities of creative and scientific organizations were demonstrated.The purpose is to study the work of B. I. Lebedinsky and N. A. Andreev on how the process of studying Baikal Siberia and the Far North took place at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.Objectives: to identify materials that confirm the research activities of Irkutsk artists, their compilation of descriptions of Siberian lands; to present stories that tell about the work of masters in creating paintings and compiling art albums; to restore the process of holding art events where one could see the artists' paintings.Methodology. The study utilizes a comprehensive approach based on general scientific principles. It incorporates problem-based chronological and historical genetic methods.Results. The work demonstrated how Irkutsk artists B. I. Lebedinsky and N. A. Andreev, together with scientists, participated in scientific expeditions to the Far North and Baikal Siberia. As a result, documents were identified that describe in detail the attitude of the masters to natural objects and the areas they visited. Visual materials highlight moments that confirm the artists' interest in changes in nature, the life of peoples.Conclusions. B. I. Lebedinsky and N. A. Andreev participated in scientific expeditions that revealed many currently known natural monuments. They compiled pictorial albums and kept records of their stay in the Far North and in the territory of Baikal Siberia, where they preserved their own impressions of events in nature.
